SWAN LAKE

Choreographer and Director: Vladimir Logunov
Conductor: Mikica Jevtić

The ballet Swan Lake, on the fantastic music by Pyotr lIyich Tchaikovsky, with its contents, fairy-tale-like form, as well as the exceptional possibilities it offers for interpretation, represents the top of the so called “white ballet” – ballet for the soloists and the ensemble.

Logunov staged the Novi Sad Swan Lake in a classical manner, following the choreographical ideas of Petipa-Ivanov, with discretely inserted authorial Choreographies of the court dances. Credits for the stage design of an aristocratic, fairy-tale-like beauty go to Miodrag Tabacki, while Mirjana Stojanovic-Mauric created the costumes of pure lines and pastel tones. The ballet Swan Lake is one of the two (Giselle) most frequently performed and most popular ballets on the Serbian National Theatre stage. It belongs to those ballets and those stage pieces people always go back to.
